This story is no April Fool's joke, in fact it is more of a disgrace. One of our regular readers had the privilege of sitting on the gallery of the BC Legislature during Question Period on March 31st.

Our reader heard many questions, but as anyone who has been following the news lately knows, Wally Oppal is answering all questions with the smug answer, "It is before the courts." In essence, the BC Liberals are refusing to answer any questions related to...well, anything.

Our reader had gone to the Legislature to have a petition presented to MLA Iain Black. Black is the minister responsible for the WCB. The petition is from thousands of working people who are asking the government to repeal changes that have been made to the WCB laws that have drastically affected benefits and pensions for permanently disabled workers.

While the petition was being introduced and read to the legislature, the Minister responsible for these laws, Iain Black, was seen cleaning his desk and then using his Blackberry before walking out of the House, before the presentation was complete.

What right does Iain Black have to represent a portfolio if he does not even take the few minutes to listen to his constituents? What a complete and total abdication of responsibility. Let's hope that the people in Iain Black's rising don't bother listening to him when he comes knocking on their doors asking for their votes.
